Hmm, I don’t get the inner roundabout ( unless it’s just been replaced by the outer elongated one).

I like this interchange on the M25, it is quite pretty (and I’d imagine fairly good at moving cars):

I do like round about style highway connections , though more for connections to surface streets rather than joining two highways.

Looking at Google Maps (both satellite and street view), I think it’s actually the other way around - the inner roundabout replaced the outer one, and the outer one has now been removed.
